AI video interviews

AI interviews that actually interview.

Not a form with a webcam. The AI asks your questions, listens to the answer, and follows up on the part that was thin — the way a good interviewer would.

AI video interviews

A first-round interview that never needs a calendar.

The candidate gets one link. The AI asks your questions, listens, and digs in where the answer was thin.

  • Adaptive follow-ups

Vague answer on retries? It asks what happened the last time a queue backed up.

  • Any of 40+ languages

Interview in Portuguese, read the report in English.

  • Integrity signals, not guesses

Voice consistency, tab focus, paste events and answer latency, each shown with its evidence.

  • Taken at 11pm if they want

No scheduling thread, no time zones, no reschedules.

Asynchronous video interviews

What an asynchronous video interview is.

An asynchronous video interview — sometimes called a one-way interview — is one where nobody has to be present at the same time. The candidate opens a link, sees each question, and records an answer whenever it suits them. There is no shared slot to agree, so a 40-person shortlist costs the same calendar effort as a 4-person one: none.

The usual objection is that it feels like talking into a void, and with a plain recording form it does. The difference here is that the questions are not fixed in advance: the AI reads the answer and asks the follow-up a good interviewer would have asked, so the candidate is responding to something rather than reciting into a webcam.

Everything the candidate says is transcribed and scored against the rubric you wrote, and the report quotes the line that earned each score. You read the evidence rather than re-watching video.

How it works

Three things to set, once per role.

  1. Step 01

    Write the rubric

Four to six things you actually care about, weighted. Start from the template for the role and cut what does not apply. This is what every score is measured against.

  2. Step 02

    Set the questions

Yours, or the vetted set for the role and seniority. Mark which ones the AI may probe deeper on and which must be asked verbatim for consistency.

  3. Step 03

    Send one link

Every applicant gets the same link. They take it when it suits them; the report is ready about four minutes after they finish.

What makes it different

The follow-up is the whole point.

  • Adaptive follow-ups

A vague answer on retries gets: what happened the last time a queue backed up, and what did you change after? The follow-up is generated from what they actually said.

  • 40+ languages

Interview in Portuguese, read the report in English. The transcript keeps both, so a bilingual reviewer can check the translation on any quoted line.

  • Integrity signals, not verdicts

Voice consistency, tab focus, paste events and answer latency — each shown with its evidence and timestamp, flagged rather than judged.

  • Same questions, every candidate

Structured by construction. No interviewer having a bad morning, no question asked of one candidate and not another.

  • Taken at 11pm if they want

No scheduling thread, no time zones, no reschedules. Candidates in other hemispheres stop being a logistics problem.

  • Fairness controls

Names, photos and schools can be hidden from the scoring pass. You can also export every score with its evidence for an audit.

Questions about AI interviews

What is an asynchronous video interview?
An interview the candidate records on their own time instead of attending live. They open a link, answer each question to camera, and the recording is transcribed and scored. Nothing has to be scheduled, so the number of candidates you interview stops being limited by the number of slots you can find.
How should I choose an AI video interview platform?
Ask three things. Does it show you the evidence behind a score, or only the score? Does it follow up on a thin answer, or read from a fixed list? And can you run a real role through it before you pay — if pricing is only available on a call, you cannot compare it against anything.
Does the AI decide who gets hired?
No. It scores answers against the rubric you wrote and shows the sentence in the transcript that earned each number. The decision, and the accountability for it, stays with your team.
What stops someone reading answers off a second screen?
Nothing stops it outright, and any vendor claiming otherwise is overselling. What you get is evidence: voice consistency across answers, tab focus, paste events and answer latency, each timestamped so you can judge it yourself.
Can candidates retake the interview?
You choose per job. Retakes are off by default; when you allow them, every attempt is kept and the report shows all of them rather than quietly replacing the first.
What if a candidate has no camera or a poor connection?
The interview runs audio-only if the camera is unavailable, and buffers locally so a dropped connection does not lose an answer. Candidates can also request a live interview instead.
